Large... Big... HUGE Paper Mazes at BigMazes.com!
Welcome to BigMazes.com, home of the world's biggest, most challenging paper mazes! Back in November of 2009 we began designing our first human-generated, big paper maze—The Scrambler—which is pictured above.
As you can see, The Scrambler is huge, measuring an incredible 36 by 72 inches (total workable maze area is 34"x70"—1,680 square inches). That's nearly 18 square feet of mind-twisting, narrow-path maze! Getting this first large maze designed and printed has been a long haul, but we are sure that maze lovers everywhere will find challenge and enjoyment as they wind and backtrack through this monster of a maze.

The Scrambler
The scope of our flagship large-format maze is amazing, especially considering that it was not generated by a piece of software. No, The Scrambler, as with all of our mazes, is completely designed by humans... for humans... in order to provide maximum challenge for those who tackle its insanity. Detours and lures have been carefully planned to ensure that mazers are never completely confident that they're on the right path. Indeed, with the sheer size of the maze, moving away from the "exit" may be actually be moving toward it! Oh, and we've designed the maze to be just as challenging from both ends, just in case there are those who think that "using the backdoor" will be any easier than beginning at the "start."
Just How Big is The Scrambler?
We admit that it is difficult to get a full appreciation of just how big The Scrambler is from a photo. So we've uploaded the full-size maze (11MB) for those who want to download it, in order to get a sense of just how much maze they're biting off when they buy one to solve. Of course, we've distored all but just a few patches of the original paths, but the full-size maze should give you a good sense of how big this maze really is.
Our Maze Philosophy
The idea behind BigMazes.com's maze designs is two-fold: quality and challenge. When we speak of quality, we're not only talking about visual appeal or aesthetic quality, we're talking about design quality—well-planned and designed mazes. Even our small mazes are planned before they're built. Planning the maze's solution and detours prior to the building process ensures that things aren't just slopped together. This care results in the accomplishing of our second objective—mazes that challenge.
There's not much satisfaction in winning where there is no challenge. And we want people to feel as though they've accomplished something when they complete one of our mazes. To that end, our mazes are built to be challenging, with planned dead-ends and lures. Granted, the challenge naturally increases with path density, and our easiest mazes have little extra space for planning dead-ends (and who wants to frustrate a three-year-old anyway?), but once you get into the "Getting Serious" category, things start...well, getting serious—varying, of course, with age and aptitude.
FREE Mazes
Not all mazers will have the patience to navigate the twists and turns of The Scrambler from start to finish. With that in mind, we are building a line of smaller FREE mazes using the same design strategies that we use on the large format mazes. They can be downloaded from MyFreeMazes.com.
Maze Difficulty Classification

Our mazes come in one of seven categories—Easy as Pie, Simple Simon, Not too Bad, Getting Serious, Challenging, Totally Lost, and Impossible—so that you can get the mazes suited to your children or group. These classifications are clearly identified on each of our mazes at the bottom-left corner.
We hope you enjoy our free mazes and that you'll try your hand on our large format mazes. We are confident that you will find them worth every cent. Our business is in its very infancy, and we hope that you'll be patient with us as we grow. Thank you so much for visiting!
